Let us put a surfing trip together for you, here is an example trip up the east coast of South Africa
Spend 7 days surfing the spectacular east coast of South Africa. Travelling along the picturesque Garden Route experiencing some of the best waves in the world. The trip includes all accommodation (including breakfasts), transport and personal tour guide.
Day 1
Depart from Cape Town and follow the False Bay coast to the seaside resort of Onrus, stopping to surf the beautiful beaches of Kogel Bay, Bettys Bay and Kleinmond. Alternatively we could take a walk up to the tranquil 'Crystal Pools' below the Steenbras Dam or go white water rafting on the Palmiet River in the nearby Kogelberg nature reserve.
Day 2
After a scrumptious breakfast we travel to the quaint fishing village of Still Baai. On arrival, head straight for the beach and spend the day surfing Still Baai Point and Jongensfontein beach. Other activities available include fishing, diving and skiing.
Day 3
Enjoy a morning surf before we move up the coast to Victoria Bay, stopping to surf at Mossel Bay and Heralds Bay along the way. The accommodation at Vic Bay is a stone’s throw from the waters edge and a world class right-hand point break.
Day 4
After a few more waves, and a well deserved breakfast we will travel to the picturesque town of Knysna to taste some of the local Knysna oysters and to view the infamous Knysna Heads. After lunch we will continue on to Plettenberg Bay, where we will spend the rest of the day surfing the fun beach breaks of one of South Africa's most popular holiday spots. Plettenberg Bay offers a whole host of other activities such as whale watching, river cruises and sea-kayaking.
Day 5
Our next destination is the surf-rich town of St Francis Bay. Bruce’s Beauties Point in St Francis Bay was made famous by Bruce Brown’s classic surf movie, Endless Summer. There are a variety of other epic surf spots nearby, such as Seal Point, Ann Avenue Beach and Huletts Reef.
Day 6
After breakfast head straight to the world renowned waves of Super tubes, Jeffrey’s Bay. The luxurious accommodation is literally 20 meters from the surf. The day is yours to spend in the wave filled line-up of Surfing’s Mecca, or to indulge in a little retail therapy at some of the surf factory shops (Billabong, Quicksilver, etc). Your guide will prepare a traditional South African Braai (barbeque) for supper to round off a perfect day.
Day 7
Wake to the sound of waves crashing and the sight of dolphins surfing the clean lines of J-Bay. After a final surf and a hearty breakfast we will depart for Port Elizabeth International Airport. We will stop at a number of attractions along the way, including the Sea View Lion and Game Park (play with Lion cubs) and the Ado Elephant Park.
